Evaluation of Practice
My magazine cover follows the conventions of having a mid shot of a person as the main image, it has a mast head, only has 3 images and has information on whats inside on the cover (cover lines). However it does not only have 3 colours and it dosen't have a strap line.
The colour pallette suits the target audience because the colours are plain and simple they are also prehaps more stereotypically male. The plain colours are prehaps more suited to the older generation of males than the younger ones.
The cover lines attract the audience because they try to make each article as dramatic and intresting as possible in one small sentence e.g. "I blew my £40m fortune on football" - 40 million pounds is alot of money instantly the reader is drawn in by the money and wants to know how its was blown and who blew it.
The magazine appeals to both new and regular readers. Every magazine made by four four two is similar in style and includes similar articles and storys that has drawn them in previously. The magazine also has catchy cover lines which they have added to try and encourage new readers to grab a copy of the shelf.
The magazine is distributed in petrol garages and some convience stores. A new magazine is released every month and any magazines not sold from previous months are taken off the shelfs.
I have learnt that before making a magazine you must take account for the layers you will need a good solid base layer to provide the main colour for the magazine and you need to work out in advance prior to make the mag what you want to go on top and want you don't mind being covered by something else. I have also learnt that every little detail like font style and colour need to be tailored to the audience's needs.
