The scene is typical of a TV soap because it is a situation which the audience can relate so it seems like normal life we have all been in a situation were someone has either told us to get out of bed and tidy or someone else is in the bathroom when you need it. Also it has a small amount of conflict when the two girls begin to glare at eachother at the bathroom door the creates some drama that makes us want to continue watching the soap. The shots used were mid shot(s), over the shoulder shot(s), pan shot, zoom, reverse zoom, 2 shot and wide shot. Mid shots are the most common for TV soaps because when people are either sitting down having a conversation, eating dinner, or standing and having a conversation we don't need a zoom in on there face because this would look strange just seeing heads and no bodies. Also we dont always need to see the entire person if they are not moving so mid shots are used most frequently. I would say my recreation was not very accurate I didn't have all of the correct props that were used in the actual eastenders clip, some of the characters were the wrong gender, some people played more than one character and I didn't change setting for the different scenes. The sucesses were we managed to get most of the lines either perfect or very good and the acting was also good. We also managed to get most of the shots correct and improvised well. However we took alot of takes for some of the shots and the transitions between each shot weren't very smooth. However over all it was more of a sucess than a fail. I have learnt that mise on scene can be very important for setting the scene, the mood and the theme for the shot so it has to be thought about very carefully and everything should be there for a reason right down to little thing like how knife and fork are positioned on a table. The lighting used in our project was not affective at all I did nothing to add or reduce lighting when making my movie. I have learnt continuity is very important for creating a realistic movie and good transition. If the settings stay fairly similar and people are stood in similar places when the shot it changed people are less likely to notice the change in shot. Also continuity helps the audience gain an idea about the characters, setting and scenario if lots of things keep changing it makes it hard for the audience to follow whats going on. I think I need to work on filming and filming techniques because I feel I could of produced a better movie had I tried to incoporate better use of mise on scene, coninuity and generally thought more about the shots before filming. I found this task more enjoyable than the magazine however I found it easier to succesfully create a magazine than a movie.
